From Yellow Door Art Market, Nov. 14, 2011
Meet Siouxsan Miller and Anne Simonetti, best friends who live across the street from each other in Ferndale, MI. They are the creative minds behind Green Daffodil, their hand-poured candle company that is both vegan and soy based. Siouxsan began creating soaps about 10 years ago and 3 years ago Anne came on board and they began making candles and lip balms together. Their goal is to create a healthy product that promotes happiness and a ‘green’ lifestyle by being as earth friendly as possible with ingredients and packaging.
We are green, encourage recycling, and strive to make the best product available. Quality is most important and that our scents are dead on~true to the scent.
What inspired you to start creating your art work and how did you turn it into a business?
Anne & I are best friends and wanted to create something together for fun with the time we were spending together.
What do you remember wanting to be when you grew up?
Siouxsan — a stock broker
Ann — a veteranarian
The hunt for something new to make and do. And seeing the smiles on happy faces of the customers when they smell our goodies.
What do you enjoy doing besides making art?
Gardening, vacations, our pets, farmer’s markets, estate sales, garbage picking and yummy food like pie and soup!
No, we are not sisters. And all of our profits are going towards building the tunnel between our houses! (Just kidding on that last one!)
